Training Program
The I.T.P. is a comprehensive two-year program that educates instructor candidates in an overall understanding of teaching the fundamentals of Afro-Latin Salsa dancing. Most of these movements are influenced by traditional Cuban dances. These classes cover (salsa) footwork, linear and circular partner dances. The program is developed to help enrich and educate dancers who have a common goal to become instructors. These classes are designed as guidelines to help the progression of the instructors and their students. With knowledge and inspiration, there is progression.
An excellent feature of the
program is the ability to choose a specialty path. For example
if a person just wanted Energetic Salsa but not the Soul*sa
he or she could do so. Alternatively, if you want to teach
only Casino style salsa it is available solely as well. Here
is a look at our programs:
Energetic
Salsa – Energetic Salsa is always the footwork
that can be applied to partner work. Energetic Salsa is based
on a basic foundation of steps and seven variations that help
to create unlimited variables for the dance. Energetic Salsa
has three subcategories:
Fitness-
designed with a workout format. Focus is on how to improve
the student's aerobic capacity with a low impact dance class
Night
Club- focus is on introducing and entertaining
Studio-focus
is education.
Soulºsa – Soulºsa
is Energetic Soul's version of partner style salsa dancing.
Soulºsa is unique because it combines both linear and
circular variations of Latin partner dancing. Soulºsa
uses three main movements as its foundation. Learn how to
be a unique dancer with exciting styling and a smooth flow.
Timing choices are on time (dance on 1), son tempo (break
on 2) or contra son tempo (break on 3). Soulºsa has two
subcategories:
Night Club-
focus is on introducing and entertaining
Studio-focus
is education.
Casino
Salsa – Casino Salsa is designed to give
participants turns based on circular movements. Learn how
to take your partner from linear to circular dancing with
a change of momentum in the form of a tap. Participants then
progress to circular turns with a Cuban flare. This class
has No Rueda Involved. Casino Salsa has one main subcategory:
Studio-focus
is education.
Rueda
de Casino – Rueda de Casino is Casino style
salsa combined with dancing in a Rueda. Rueda translates to
Wheel. It takes at least two couples to form a wheel. There
is no limit to the number of couples who can participate.
It is important that every leader can either see or hear the
main caller. A good Rueda switches partners frequently. This
keeps the wheel continuously moving. The Rueda should be exciting
and fun. Rueda de Casino has one main subcategory:
Studio- focus
is education.
Energetic
Salsa is a prerequisite for any ITP courses. NO EXCEPTIONS!
The Associate Instructor
program takes approximately two years to complete. It covers
all of the fundamental styles offered at Energetic Soul Studios.
The Associate program is our most popular program. In order
to register all applicants must submit a letter that states
why you are interested in the ESSITP, as well as a one-page
biography.

miss up to 3 hours max per three months. Any hours missed
beyond the allowed limit that must be made up in the form
